Bergen Experience Program

The Bergen Experience Program is intended as a mechanism for high school juniors and seniors with an overall grade point average of 3.0 to pursue advanced education at an early stage in their academic life.

Students completing their sophomore year can enroll in a summer session.

Bergen Experience Program Eligibility Requirements

  • Eligible students will be permitted to take up to six (6) credits during the Fall or Spring semesters and up to eight (8) credits during the Summer sessions.
  • The minimum age requirement is at least 16 years of age. Some restrictions may apply and the student must get permission for each semester as a Bergen Experience student.
  • Students who are not interested in registering for English or MATH courses are not required to take the placement Test.
  • Students who are interested in English and MATH college- level courses must take the ACCUPLACER (basic skills test) unless they have achieved certain scores on the SAT, ACT, AP examination and have been waived from taking the Accuplacer.

  • College Experience students will be able to take any course that this college offers as long as they have the required prerequisites.
  • Credits obtained from Bergen Experience program do not fulfill the requirements to graduate from High School. They are transferable to a two-year community college and to four-year colleges and universities.
