Message from President

The Division of Continuing Education, Corporate & Public Sector Training plays an integral role in Bergen Community College’s mission of supporting workforce development and providing opportunities for lifelong learning. Offering high-quality, affordable courses and flexible scheduling, the Division of Continuing Education, Corporate & Public Sector Training is a vital conduit through which the College reaches students of all ages, socioeconomic backgrounds and interests.
This spring, Continuing Education is offering courses that will provide pathways to a wide range of careers, including environmental services, aviation, health professions, teaching and advanced manufacturing – to name just a few.
The Division also serves as a vehicle for pursuing knowledge – the pure fun of learning.  Many students discover they can enhance their knowledge in areas of personal interest through continuing education courses.  Each year, a growing number of Bergen County retirees find personal fulfillment through the Institute for Learning in Retirement’s (ILR) programs, activities and personal development courses ranging from discussions of great American writers to singing with the ILR’s senior chorus.
Also this spring, Continuing Education is offering additional courses in different languages and adding to its selection of online courses taught by highly skilled professional instructors and lecturers.  Bergen Community College at the Meadowlands in Lyndhurst and the Philip Ciarco Jr. Learning Center in Hackensack now offer continuing education courses as well.
Meanwhile, Continuing Education also offers customized training for companies both on our campus or at their job site. Bergen works with major employers in the county to enhance workers’ skills and help them find employment.
So, whether you are seeking to learn more about Mozart or how to motivate workers on the midnight shift; attempting to give your current career a lift or seeking a pathway to success in a new profession, please visit the College online or in person to see how Continuing Education can help.
On behalf of Bergen Community College, we look forward to serving you.
