Bergen Community College has established a full-time Office of Alumni Affairs. The mission of the office is to serve the BCC Alumni Network (ANET), helping members take advantage of the diverse activities, events and other opportunities of the BCC community.
The Bergen Community College Alumni Network promotes ideas, leadership and the reconnection through friendships among alumni, current students and faculty.
The Alumni Network offers members extensive benefits and services:
- Use of the College facilities, including the library, pool, computer labs and athletic facilities (Please see Facility Hours of Operations).
- Special career services, including employment skills workshops, job listings, and assistance with resume writing.
- A variety of social activities, including seminars, receptions and special trips.
- The Alumni Benefits Program of discounts on events, performances and purchases at the College.
The alumni year runs from July 1 through June 30. Your annual $25 fee is paid to the BCC Alumni Network and distributed between two funds; $18 goes to the Alumni Network Scholarship Fund managed by the BCC Foundation, and $7 goes to the operating fund for Alumni Network activities and programs throughout the membership year.
The Office of Alumni Affairs collaborates with the BCC Foundation, and works with departments throughout the College to create and manage a comprehensive program of alumni activities and events as well as opportunities for alumni to serve as ambassadors for the College.
An important part of the Office of Alumni Affairs mission is to tap the vast talent and professional expertise of alumni on behalf of BCC students. Working with the vice president of academic affairs, deans and department chairs, the Office of Alumni Affairs serves as a conduit for the Alumni Mentoring Program and Alumni Speakers Bureau.
In addition to developing events on and off campus for alumni to meet and network – and just have fun together – the Office of Alumni Affairs works with interested individuals to establish alumni affinity groups that build upon specific shared interests of Bergen alumni.
Housed in Room A-325 on the third floor of the Pitkin Education Center’s Administrative Wing in Paramus, the Office of Alumni Affairs invites you to stop in, email the Alumni Network Office, or call us at (201) 879-8952 to share your ideas or request information.
PLEASE NOTE: All alumni must ask their healthcare provider to fill out a Bergen Community College Health Services Medical Record form in order to use the pool and Fitness Center facilities.
