Work Study and On-Campus Employment

The Career Center handles the Student College Employment paperwork for Federal Work Study and On-Campus Employment

Workforce Wednesdays

  • Provides students with the opportunity to meet local employers at our Paramus campus
  • Most Wednesdays throughout the semester, usually between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in the Student Center of the Pitkin Education Building

Career Fairs

Each Spring and Fall semester, over 40 companies come on campus to take part in the Career Center’s Career Fair

Our Spring 2024 Career Fair will take place on Wednesday, April 17 inside the Student Center of the Pitkin Education Building at the College’s main campus in Paramus.  Registration will begin in March and attending employer information will be provided on Handshake when available.

Cooperative Education

  • Cooperative Education is a unique educational program which formally integrates academic learning with “real world” work experience. Students have the opportunity to apply classroom learning to professional employment directly related to their major and career goals. On campus, students attend a weekly seminar. Academic credit is awarded for all co-op experiences.
  • To schedule a co-op appointment, use this link. Click “Get on line from anywhere OR make an appointment”, then click “Book an Appointment”, then click “Paramus Student Services”, then click “Advising Appointments”. Select the available CO-OP advisor and the time available that works best for you. Lastly, fill out your student information and confirm your selection. You will be sent an email about your appointment and a reminder email before your appointment.

The HACU National Internship Program

Clinical Oncology Open Learning (COOL) Scholars Program

  • COOL 2024 will be a program of clinical observation and clinical learning at one of our MSK regional network sites in New Jersey, Long Island, or Westchester for 6 weeks, from Monday, June 17, 2024 to Friday, July 26, 2024. Applications open on 11/13/23, with a 1/12/24 deadline. The flyer below includes a description of the program, with links to the application.

Congressional Internship Program – Spring 2024

  • The Office of Congressman Bill Pascrell, Jr. is seeking highly motivated, professional individuals to serve as an interns at the District Office in Paterson, New Jersey for the Spring Semester. Responsibilities include general reception duties and assisting staff on projects. Candidates should be personable, have strong written and communication skills, and possess a strong attention to detail. Congressional Interns are asked to assist staff with events and community outreach. Internship hours are flexible, but candidates should expect to be present for at least two full workdays (16hrs).
     
    GPA Requirement: 3.0

NJ Career Accelerator Internship Grant Program

  • The New Jersey Office of the Secretary of Higher Education (OSHE) awarded funding to 146 employers across the state for 600 paid internship opportunities through the NJ Career Accelerator Internship Grant Program for the summer of 2024. New opportunities are being added regularly and are being posted on Handshake!
  • OSHE will be hosting two upcoming Information sessions for students and advisors to review expectations of the program, where to find the open positions and how to apply. Registration is required for each session. Below is the information and registration link for each Information Session:
