The EOF Department is dedicated to helping students improve their skills related to academic achievement and overall personal success in life. To help facilitate this goal, the EOF program offers workshops on topics pertinent to student life such as Study Skills, Time Management, Test Taking Strategies, Effective Communication, and more, are offered to enhance the quality of a students’ college life. Workshops are presented by EOF counselors as well as BCC faculty.
All EOF students are required to attend a mandatory EOF Informational Workshop every semester that will review the expectations and services of the EOF Program. In addition, all EOF students must attend at least 2 more workshops of their choice; however, we encourage students to attend as many as possible.* It is the student’s responsibility to register for and attend the workshops. You must sign in at the workshop and stay for the entire workshop in order to receive credit.
All students must attend the mandatory workshop, however, if you have extraordinary circumstances that prevent you from attending the additional 2 required workshops, you must meet with your counselor to provide reason and request a waiver. Your counselor must sign in the space provided on bottom of Workshop Registration Form.
Students registered and attending Course IST 121, “Introduction to the College Experience” (aka “ICE”) will still be required to take the mandatory EOF workshop; however, they may be able to receive a waiver from the other 2 workshops. Students taking IST 121 should contact their counselors to request a waiver. Your counselor must sign in the space provided on bottom of Workshop Registration Form.
