What is Wellness?

It is the state of one’s health: physically, psychologically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually.

This is just about everything that makes you who you are.


What is Wellness Center?

The Wellness Center is a hub of information directed at the needs of the community known as Bergen Community College.


What is the purpose of Wellness Center?

The purposes of the center is to promote TOTAL wellness in the college community.

Its activities include:

  • the Great American Smoke Out
  • Take Back The Night
  • mental health initiatives, seminars, meditation sessions
  • workshops on body image and eating well
  • peer support
  • referrals on wellness issues and many more areas.


How can I find out about current offerings?

The center posts upcoming events on the Wellness webpage, Monday Morning Report, Broadcast email, Perspective email newspaper, on the door and bulletin board outside of the Wellness Center.


What is a Peer Educator?

One of theparticular needs in the college community is peer support. This is why the Wellness Center takes time to train students to become Peer Educators.


What does a Peer Educator do?

The Peer Educator supports other peers. They direct those with problems to the appropriate resources to help. A Peer Educator will listen, as sometimes that is all that is required.

A Peer Educator will help organize and run many Wellness Center programs.

A Peer Educator will talk to others about the Wellness Center and the Peer Educator Program.

Most importantly, a Peer Educator will show that they care
