 Welcome to Bergen Community College. As a teacher, I know that a great education is much more than the material you learn; a great education also is shaped by the people around you as you make your way through college. Bergen Community College is redefining education, combining high quality classroom experiences, cutting-edge technology, and a vast array of extra-curricular programs to invigorate learning. Our mission, to provide high quality, relevant, and varied programs and opportunities for the growth of our students. Their academic experiences are marked by close student-to-faculty interaction, opportunities for creative and challenging study, a broad range of extra-curricular activities, and interactions with a study body enriched and renewed by diversity.
As a faculty member, your role is instrumental to the future academic success of our students. You are part of a dedicated faculty that is deeply committed to student success. This commitment sparks the aspirations of our students, and this in turn inspires faculty to continue to challenge and innovate. Great teaching enables our students to expand their interest, discover new passions, and develop their intellectual curiosity. As a faculty member, you will challenge your students and most importantly, you will help them discover that their greatest challenges spring from the goals they set for themselves.
The entire Bergen Community College faculty participates in one single goal: preparing our students to successfully face the challenges ahead in a four-year institution or in the workplace. To help with that effort we believe that it is absolutely essential to provide you with this faculty development program to support you as you become an integral part of the Bergen faculty. Our New Faculty Mentoring Program, for example, provides a structure that will support, reinforce, and nurture your experience at the College. Your mentor will serve as your anchor and a key source of information about our institution.
