Substance Abuse
This seminar covers many legal and employee relations issues concerning the workplace implications of employee use of illegal drugs and abuse of prescription drugs and alcohol. Included: the prevalence and effects of drugs in the workplace; developing an effective and legally sound drug and alcohol abuse policy; drug testing-when, how, and for whom; identifying, assisting, and disciplining employees who violate your policy; and situations where the American with Disabilities Act requires attempts at reasonable accommodation. The seminar contains much practical advice on balancing worker privacy with the need for a safe, productive workplace.

Daniele, Pete: Pete is president of a small manufacturing company located in New Jersey. Peter has over 25 years of financial and management experience including 10 years as Controller and VP of Operations for ADP. He has managed the growth of several small and mid-sized organizations both financially and strategically with a focus as working as a team. He is a graduate of Rutgers University where he is also an adjunct professor of auditing. He has been a Bergen SBDC Advisory Board Member since 2000.
D'Elia, Vincent: Vincent is the Director, SBDC at Bergen Community College, where he manages the daily operations of the center, counsel's clients, teaches a variety of classes and develops new programs for today's entrepreneur. Throughout his career, he has specialized in reorganization based on analysis of operational financial problem solving. He received an M.B.A. from Ramapo College and a B.S. in Business from LIU.
Kurocka, Edward: Ed is the Principal and Founder, OnSight Advisors, LLC, a management consulting firm that specializes in organizational planning, effectiveness and performance improvement. His career began as head of human resources management and then consulting for Fortune 100 companies. He has specialized in Performance Management and Compensation. He received his B.A. in English/Liberal Arts from The College of New Jersey, an M.S. in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania, and is an adjunct at The College of New Jersey, Mercer County Community College, and the NJ Human Resources Development Institute.
Morgan, Vicki Lynne: Vicki Lynne is the owner of Russmor Marketing Group, a company dedicated to assisting small businesses with strategic planning for business development and growth. With over 30 years experience in marketing and selling, her specialty is to assist in identifying the critical decisions to assure long term growth and profitability. Her expertise include: Marketing, Selling Skills, Customer Loyalty and Trade Show Marketing.
Murray, Richard, C.P.A.: Richard is a Certified Internal Auditor with over 30 years experience in the private sector. His client list is a diverse group of businesses from start-up entities to well-established and growing mid-sized companies. Since 1986, He has served as an adjunct professor and lecturer. He continues to teach the accounting seminars for the Bergen SBDC Entrepreneur Certificate Program as well. He has been a Bergen SBDC Advisory Board Member since 2000.
Weinstein, Steven, C.P.A.: Steve is the Principal Owner of Weinstein & Weinstein P.C. founded in 1929. Steven specializes in accounting and valuations of small to mid-sized businesses ($150 Mil revenue). He is co -chairperson on the Teaneck Economic Development Corporation, a Holy Name Hospital Financial Planning member, sits on the Fair Lawn Zoning Board and is the Mayor for the Borough of Fair Lawn, 2007. Steven received his M.S. in Taxation from Pace University, his B.B.A. in Accounting from George Washington University and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1982. He has been a Bergen SBDC Advisory Board Member since 2000.
