Jorge Hernandez, Field Manager
The North Jersey Eagles recently named Jorge Hernandez of Teaneck, NJ the head coach for the 2009 season. Hernandez brings over 10 years of experience coaching at the collegiate level. He began his coaching career at Ramapo College (1998-2000) where he had also played (1995-96) and earned Outstanding Player Award in 1995 and All NJAC honors. Jorge's college career also includes Greensboro College (1993-94) the year before where he was awarded the 1994 Coach's Award. Jorge served as an assistant coach at Rutgers-Newark (2001) and John Jay College (2002-05) before landing his first head coaching job at Bergen Community College. Bergen Community College (2006-09) has flourished under Hernandez with their first playoff birth and an over .500 record in 20 years.
Beginning his baseball career at Teaneck High School (1990-92), Jorge was awarded the 1992 Most Valuable Player Award and All-Division honors his senior year. He now looks forward to leading the North Jersey Eagles to a successful 2009 in the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League
