Waldon Joseph Hagan, Ph.D.
Vice President of Student Affairs
Dr. Waldon Joseph Hagan, who joined Bergen in 2017, provides leadership in student affairs and enrollment management – overseeing areas such as admissions, advising, athletics and student life.
Throughout his 26-year career, Dr. Hagan has prioritized student learning and support as the keystones of his education philosophy, beginning as an English teacher and coach before transitioning to a college adviser and numerous leadership roles in student services at both community colleges and four-year institutions. He has also served as a campus dean and professor at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Prior to beginning his Bergen tenure, Dr. Hagan worked as the vice president for student development and success and Title IX coordinator at Mt. Hood Community College.
Past honors include the Tennessee Board of Regents Maxine Smith Fellowship for Executive Leadership in Higher Education.
Dr. Hagan graduated from The University of Southwestern Louisiana with a B.A. in English before earning an M.S. in counseling and a Ph.D. in educational psychology and research from the University of Memphis.
