Dr. Yikyung Diana Hughes

Dr. Yikyung Diana Hughes, a native of Seoul, Korea holds a Doctorate in Piano Performance from Rutgers University. She received both a Masters and Bachelor’s degree in piano performance from the Mannes College of Music in New York City. As a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral pianist Diana has performed in South Korea, Spain, the USA and Canada. In 1989 she was a finalist in the Young Artist International Competition in NYC. She performed at Carnegie’s Weill recital hall in 1994.

Diana has been an artist in residence at York College, P.A., the Evaristo Vlle Museum in Gijon in Spain, and a faculty at Taejon College in Korea. Currently she is on the Bergen Community College as adjunct, teaching applied music (piano), Class Piano, and Piano Pedagogy and Choir Director/Organist of the New City United Methodist Church. In 2002 she was one of three organist to receive the George Bryant award for organ.

Diana freelances as a soloist, chamber musician, private teacher, and accompanist in the greater New York, New Jersey, and P.A. She has participated as a master performer in residence for the Wednesday Club since the early 1990’s.
