Certified Logistics Associate

Certified Logistics Associates and Technicians assist with the delivery, distribution, and storage of products. Retail, warehouse and shipping companies hire our CLA/CLT students to manage the inventory of products including receiving, packing, shipping and processing orders. Students learn the basic skills and knowledge for material handling jobs and will be prepared to sit for two certification exams. A Certified Logistics Associate/Technician has an average earning potential for salary in the United States of $32,000 per year, depending on experience, certifications, and job performance. With the increased demand in e-commerce, there is a strong future job outlook for Certified Logistics Associates. Students must be proficient in 8th grade level math and 9th grade level reading to be successful in this course. Classroom instruction generally runs from September through mid-winter. The student will spend the remainder of the school year in an internship. Additional time to review the material is available for students with special learning requirements.
Successful students may have the potential to earn up to 3 college credits.

Childhood Development Associate

The Childhood Development Associate certificate is the most widely recognized credential in Early Childhood Education. A CDA certificate prepares you for work in daycare, as a preschool teacher, a teaching assistant, or childcare worker. An entry level CDA earns an average of $29,000 per year in the United States. Classroom instruction runs from September to March and students will be placed in an internship in late spring. Students will prepare for the CDA exam issued by the CDA Council for Professional Recognition and prepare a portfolio. Upon completion of the CDA program, students meeting admission requirements can transfer 9 credits into the Associates in Applied Science (AAS) Degree in Early Childhood Education at Bergen Community College. Additional time is available for students with special learning requirements.

Medical Office Assistant

This program is ideal for high school students with an interest in taking the first step toward a career in the fast-growing health professions field. Medical Office Assistants greet patients, manage electronic health records, and ensure the office operates efficiently while also creating a friendly and positive patient experience. This program prepares students for a career in doctors’ offices, hospitals, dental offices and clinics. Employment of medical office assistants is expected to grow 25% in the next ten years with an average salary in the United States of $34,000 per year. Students attend classroom instruction from September to May and will then receive job placement assistance in late spring or summer. Upon completion, students receive a certificate from the National Health Care Association.

Construction Management

The Certificate in Construction Management is a career-oriented program preparing individuals for opportunities in the building, construction, and engineering industries. The coursework prepares students to enter the field as an assistant to the project superintendent, assistant construction project coordinator, building maintenance staff, assistant estimator, or scheduler. Courses begin with a solid understanding of blueprint reading, estimating, project scheduling with Oracle Primavera P6 software, and the entire construction process. All of our instructors are presently employed in their area of specialty, offering a unique, real-world experience to the students while earning industry-recognized credentials. Additional time is available for students with special learning requirements. Students attend classes in the evening and/or weekends. The average annual salary of an entry level cost estimator is approximately $27,000 per year.

Fashion Design

Our Fashion Design program offers students the necessary credentials, industry knowledge, and hands-on experience to earn their professional certification in fashion design. Choose from a certificate in Fashion Design, Fashion Design Art, or Sewing. This program is ideal for students who want to learn about fashion for personal interest, prepare for a career in the fashion industry, or build their portfolio for college applications. Learn how to sew, design clothes, and develop an eye for fashion detail. Use your imagination and ingenuity to create your designs. Our seasoned faculty, a former FIT Adjunct Associate Professor, a current high school Fashion Design Instructor, and a former NY School of Design instructor, will guide and mentor students to navigate their passion for fashion.This program takes place weekday evenings and/or weekends.

Interior Design

Our Interior Design program is perfect for students who want to prepare for a career in the interior design industry or want to build portfolios for higher education opportunities. They experience life as an interior designer by learning fundamentals of Interior Design including design principles, color, lighting, materials, and drafting. The Interior Design Certificate program offers students the necessary credentials, industry knowledge, and hands-on experience to earn their professional certification in interior design. Students receive individualized support and training from experienced faculty, professional designers and industry experts, who provide the technical skills to translate abstract concepts into three-dimensional reality. Our faculty are active professionals with more than 20 years of experience in residential and commercial design for a variety of clients. This program takes place weekday evenings and/or weekends.
