In 2023, Men’s Track & Field, Kaden Stevens, won the NJCAA Championship in the Triple Jump event.

In 2021, Bergen Community College Athletics sponsors its first Esports team and competed in the National Junior College Athletic Association Esports (NJCAAE) organization.

In 2019, Women’s Track & Field, Allison Bryan, was the first Bergen student-athlete to win back to back NJCAA Heptathlon Championships in Bergen Community College’s school history.

In 2018, Trailblazing former Bergen Community College coach Rose Marie Battaglia, Ph.D., has earned entry into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame.

Men’s Cross Country, Chis Benitez, finished 15th place at the 2018 NJCAA Men’s Cross Country Championship and earned All-American (Honorable Mention).

Women’s Track & Field team had three NJCAA national champions, including Allison Bryan (Heptathlon), Justine Conca (Steeplechase), and Elizabeth Vargas (Javelin).

Women’s Basketball player, Cherie Smedile, breaks the all-time record in points scored at Bergen CC with a total of 1,222. She surpassed BCC alumni, Karen Smith, who held the record since 1977, which is over 40 years.

In 2017, Women’s Track & Field, Camille Calupad, was the first NJCAA Pole Vault Champion in Bergen Community College’s school history.

Bergen’s Women’s Cross Country runner, Justin Conca, won the 2016 & 2017 Region XIX and 2016 & 2017 Garden State Athletic Conference Race. She also earned 2016 NJCAA First Team All-American by finishing in 4th place at nationals.

In 2016, Men’s Track & Field, Garrett Pynn, was the first NJCAA Discus Champion in Bergen Community College’s school history.

Women’s Cross Country won it’s first Region XIX Championship since 1989.

Men’s Cross Country team won back to back Region XIX Championships. They also brought home the 3rd place trophy from the 2016 NJCAA National Meet.

Men’s Soccer team won back to back Region XIX Championships. In 2015, Bergen won its first region title for the first time in school history.

Bergen Community College since 1968 has a rich history in intercollegiate athletics. The Bulldogs compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA DIVISION III)
