How does the Cybersecurity Bootcamp work?
- No previous experience required. High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 24 week bootcamp in three, 8-week phases.
- 4 hours per week of live online instructor training, two weekday evenings. If you miss a class, don’t worry – you’ll have access to the recorded session.
- 16+ lab hours of homework and assignments per week.
- Virtual Career Services assistance is available 24/7. Individual meeting times can be scheduled with a career counselor.
- Free tutoring available. Schedule an appointment at your convenience.
Develop Job-Ready Cybersecurity Skills
- Training prepares you to take the CompTIA Security+ and CompTIA CySA+ certifications. Free test vouchers are included.
- Gain practical experience in computer vulnerabilities, attack vectors, exploits, and mitigation controls.
- Curriculum covers PC and server software, applications, code, networking, systems, web technologies, and databases.
- Conduct event and incident investigations, developing the skills to identify and respond to computer intrusions, infections, and unauthorized access or usage.
- Learn the leading approaches to managing cybersecurity, including ‘defense in depth’ and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework.
- Receive hands-on training in areas including CEH type scenarios, defensive and offensive cybersecurity, networking, systems, web technologies, and databases.
- Conduct technical analysis, and suggest change control recommendations.
- Identify, assess, report on technology and information security risks. Analyze data to produce meaningful metrics for risk management programs.

Program Requirements: FAQ’s
- Must complete 90% of assignments
- Must maintain 80% attendance in each phase
- Successfully pass all exams to receive a Certificate of Achievement
- Access to high speed internet, Bluetooth mouse and monitor.
- Each VM may need 2-4 GB of RAM and 20-40 GB of Hard Disk storage.
- To ensure you are able to complete all of the hands-on activities effectively, we recommend a computer with the following:
- Memory/RAM: 16GB or more
- Disk Space: 300+ GB free space
- x64 Processor (at minimum): AMD Ryzen 5 or Intel Core i5; dual core CPU at least 2.8
- GHz (recommended):AMD Ryzen 7 or Intel Core i7 or greater
- Mac or Windows OS no more than 2 years old and not in beta; If using a Mac we highly recommend the Intel processor instead of the M1 processor due to compatibility issues which will not be supported.
- Note: if the operating system does not meet the requirements above, Bergen Community College will not be able to help troubleshoot any technical issues the student may encounter.
