March 5, 2020 – Update 2
Last evening, Gov. Phil Murphy announced that a Bergen County man has contracted the state’s first case of COVID-19 and remains quarantined in a local hospital. While health officials have reiterated that the risk to the general public remains low, the College will take the following precautions by:
- Practicing enhanced cleaning and disinfecting of physical surfaces at all locations;
- Promoting everyday measures to maintain good health and hygiene through printed materials and an online resource repository;
- Establishing a COVID-19 task force charged with overseeing the institution’s response;
- Continuing to monitor the latest guidance from the World Health Organization, the Centers for Disease Control, New Jersey Department of Health and Bergen County Department of Health Services.
You can do your part to protect against COVID-19 by washing your hands regularly; covering your mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing; remaining home when dealing with the flu or viral illness; and other everyday measures outlined in the online resource repository.
I will continue to update the College community as new facts emerge.
