How to Find Your Course
- To access your online course, log in to Portal using your Portal username and password.
- Locate your course under My Class sites.
- Click the course link to access your course.
The Portal username and password to access a distance learning course is sent to your Bergen student email account. To claim your Bergen student email account: view this PDF. If you are logging in for the first time, follow instructions on the Student Portal Help Site.
Courses may not be available until the first day of the class. Contact your professor if the course is not available by the first day of the semester.

How Moodle is Used in Online Classes
Instructors use Moodle to share course syllabus, required readings, course assignments or online exams. Moodle is used to take attendance, send class announcements or emails. It is also used for class discussion or holding a virtual office hour.
Want to see what a Moodle course looks like? Go to the Moodle web site and type username as webb and password as Trekker. Keep in mind every course looks a little different based on the preferences of the course instructor.
How to use Moodle
Two weeks before the start of the semester you will have access to the course “Getting started with Moodle – A Resource Area.” You can use this course shell to practice commonly use Moodle tools such as posting to a Discussion forum, submitting an Assignment and taking an online Quiz.
