  • Purpose: Perkins funding supports career and technical education programs. The purpose of Perkins Grant is to develop more fully the academic career and technical skills of secondary and post-secondary students who elect to enroll in career and technical education (CTE) by developing and assisting students in meeting high standards, integrating academic and career and technical instruction, linking secondary and post-secondary education, increasing state and local flexibility, collecting and disseminating research and information on best practices, providing technical assistance and professional development, supporting partnerships among diverse stakeholders, and providing individuals with the knowledge and skills to keep the U.S. competitive.
