As part of the College’s strategic planning efforts to Reimagine Bergen we are pleased to the launch the Bergen Leadership Academy (BLA) this Fall 2019.
Today’s most successful higher education leaders appreciate the culture of their institution, are student centric, able to adapt to a changing environment and help move the College forward in a manner that inspires those around them to “Dream Big.” As Bergen Community College looks to support its employees’ continued growth and development, we have created The Academy to cultivate these leadership qualities.
The BLA Fellows will participate in a yearlong program to develop leadership competencies such as the ability to manage change, build departmental teams and cross-campus partnerships. Each month, they will engage in a half-day workshop to explore critical leadership topics facing the landscape of higher education and their impact on Bergen Community College. Through discussions of theory, case studies, and team-driven tasks, the Fellows will use their new knowledge to propel the College forward with a real-time practical application of their work.
