Bergen Baseball began their season on Saturday, February 26, 2022 when they traveled to Maryland. The team finished their trip 4-0, by sweeping both Anne Arudel Community College on Saturday and Dundalk Community College on Sunday.

In the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader, Malcolm Gilchrist started for the Bulldogs and put together an impressive outing, which earned him National NJCAA Baseball DIII Pitcher of the week. The southpaw struck out 15 batters across 5.2 innings, while also allowing one hit and no earned runs for his first win of the year, against Division II Anna Arundel Community College.

On Sunday versus Dundalk Community College, Bergen’s Derek Langford pitched a 5 inning no hitter and  defeated Division II Dundalk Community College by the score of 10-0.

Offensive player highlights from the Maryland come from Robert Estrada who had 6 hits and Jayson Cruz who went 5-12 with a triple, homerun, 7 5 RBI and 7 runs scored on in three games played.
