Devon Cafaro Spotlight
Professor Ellen Denuto’s photography student, Devon Cafaro, a sophomore studying journalism at Bergen Community College, photographed a hockey player during winter time. Cafaro, who is pursuing a career in photojournalism, described the photograph as a chance meeting where the player had a childhood dream to play hockey and achieved it. Cafaro said, “Bergen truly changed my college experience. Professor Denuto mentored me and gave me the courage to become a professional photographer. Photography is my passion and I got a chance to learn the skills I need to pursue this as a career at Bergen. I am thankful for Professor Denuto’s film photography class and the access to a photography dark room at Bergen.” He quoted American photographer, Ansel Easton Adams, who said, “There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs.” Cafaro said, “I hope to take those words and continue to take good photographs for the world to see.”
