Ellen Denuto Faculty Spotlight

Bergen adjunct professor of photography, Ellen Denuto, said, “I have taught photography at Bergen at different points during my career. I shared my knowledge and expertise in traditional photography practices and provided a historic context for students. I have always found Bergen students to be serious in their studies and open to new ways of seeing the world. Since the Covid-19 pandemic began, my students have embraced the opportunity to document their own personal histories and capture the turbulent and uncertain times they were witnessing. We overcame the challenges of asynchronous learning with weekly Webex meetings which kept us connected.” Denuto shared some moving photographs from her personal photography collection documenting COVID-19 for feature on the College’s social media accounts.
