In celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week (May 2-8, 2021), Bergen Community College recognizes aspiring education student, Giovanna Young, who was nominated by Professor Melissa Krieger. Young, an early childhood education major who graduated in May 2021, credits Bergen’s education program and its professors with her great personal experience. Young said, “Bergen Community College’s education program prepared me with the necessary knowledge and skills to embody the qualifications of an educator. The professors are very supportive and invested in your success by always encouraging you to do your best. I’ve gained information that I could use and apply to my future career.”

Based in Paramus, Bergen Community College (www.bergen.edu), a public two-year coeducational college, enrolls more than 13,000 students at locations in Paramus, the Philip Ciarco Jr. Learning Center in Hackensack and Bergen Community College at the Meadowlands in Lyndhurst. The College offers associate degree, certificate and continuing education programs in a variety of fields. More students graduate from Bergen than any other community college in the state.
