Keith Chu is associate professor of history & geography and academic department chair. He specializes in Medieval and Early Modern European history with a particular focus on the institutions, economy, and society of England and the Low Countries. His research and teaching interests also includes early American history, history of science, Western religious history, and modern Germany. He regularly teaches courses in the honors college. Professor Chu has held fellowships from the Nation Endowment for the Humanities and the United States Institute of Peace. He was the founding director of the college’s Peace, Justice, and Reconciliation Center. Prof. Chu is currently engaged in projects involving new approaches to the study of history through geography and new technology. In his spare time he advises the college chess club.
