The Social Science Department at BCC offers a wide variety of in-person and online courses in Anthropology, Economics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology and Social Work. The courses in the department are part of degree-granting programs and most satisfy requirements for general education. Students should select courses in the department by the statement of requirements for the specific programs in which they are enrolled.
The goals of the Department include providing a variety of social and behavioral scientific paradigms for students to analyze the complexities of individual, group, community, and societal relationships and issues within a global arena. By stimulating intellectual curiosity and critical thinking, students can gain a valuable foundation for personal growth and application towards further study and ultimately a rewarding career.
