Mission: The mission of the Violence Prevention Center at Bergen Community College is to educate the community on sexual assault, dating violence and stalking — through supportive services and prevention programs.

Chrisula Tasiopoulos, former Sr. Director, healingSPACE at YWCA Bergen County. This organization is a safe and welcoming place for survivors of sexual assault/abuse, their families and friends. The 24/7 crisis intervention hotline provides free and confidential assistance and information regarding available resources.
Barbara Buff, former RN for Health Services, Bergen Community College. The RN staff of Health Services provides first-aid, emergency medical response, and healthcare maintenance to all members of the campus community. All of their personalized medical services are offered free of charge in a fully accessible setting.
Elaine Meyerson, former Executive Director, Center for Hope and Safety (formerly known as Shelter Our Sisters) mission is to foster healing and change. We provide emergency and transitional housing, emotional support and a diversified continuum of services focused on safety, empowerment, and self-sufficiency.
Jennifer Migliorino-Reyes, Dean of Center for Student Success, Bergen Community College. The Center for Student Success is committed to serving the needs of the “whole” student. Our licensed staff is available to assist students in achieving their health and wellness goals, enabling students to make lifestyle choices that help them achieve optimal physical, emotional and behavioral well-being.
David J. Cohen, Director, Alternatives to Domestic Violence (ADV). ADV is a division of the Bergen County Department of Human Services and provides services to help the victim, the abuser, and the family caught in the cycle of domestic violence and dating abuse.
William M. Corcoran, Director of Public Safety, Bergen Community College (Campus Security). The function of the Department of Public Safety is varied and includes, but is not limited to: unbiased and fair enforcement of the Colleges rules and regulations, responding to calls for non-enforcement services, active patrol of the campus, and serving as public relations contacts.
Nestor Melendez, former Dean of Student Life and Judicial Affairs, Bergen Community College. The Office of Judicial Affairs is available for students to report incidents of sexual assault, current sexual assaults, sexual assault awareness, rapes and other violations of the Student Code of Conduct.
