PARAMUS, N.J. – Enjoy an evening of storytelling and stand-up comedy when Bergen Community College Professor Brian Altano, Ed.D., of Ridgewood, and his son Dan present “Just a Jersey Guy and Son: A Night of Comedic Storytelling,” Saturday, May 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the Anna Maria Ciccone Theatre (400 Paramus Road).
Brian’s darkly comedic “The Seven Reasons I’m Going to Hell” touches on transgression and retribution in stories featuring his own personal foibles as well as the shared experiences of colorful Jersey characters. Dan’s story, “Grow Up” tackles the stumbles, falls and small triumphs of adulthood while trying to maintain one’s sanity and a sense of humor.
A professor for more than 30 years, the elder Altano has appeared on radio and television shows and performed in theatres around the world. He has also written 15 books.
Dan performs as a member of the nationally-touring stand-up group Escape from New York. He has played the Comic Strip Live, Caroline’s on Broadway and the New York Comedy Club. Caroline’s recently named him a “breakout artist.” Dan also remains the creator and host of the interactive web show “Dinner’s Ready Live,” which blends comedy and cooking.
Ticket prices for the general public are $35, with discounts offered to senior citizens, Bergen faculty and students. For additional information, please call (201) 447-7428 or visit tickets.bergen.edu.
