New Jersey Real Estate Commission–Approved Licensing and Professional Development

Bergen Community College offers New Jersey Real Estate Commission Bureau–approved licensure and professional development courses for individuals seeking to begin or advance a career in real estate sales, property management, and investment.

These programs provide comprehensive training for licensing, career specialization, and continuing education within New Jersey’s dynamic real estate market.

Real Estate Salesperson Track

Real Estate Salesperson Licensing (CD-107)

This 75-hour NJ Real Estate Commission–approved course satisfies the state’s educational requirement for licensure as a Real Estate Salesperson. Students gain foundational knowledge of real estate law, transactions, and ethics while preparing for the New Jersey Salesperson Licensing Examination. Topics include property interests, mortgages, deeds, title closing, liens, real estate calculations, agency relationships, and real estate law and ethics. Students who successfully complete the course may apply to sit for the New Jersey Salesperson Licensing Exam administered by PSI.

The New Jersey Real Estate Commission requires all licensees to complete 12 continuing education credit hours every two years to maintain active licensure.

Property Management Track

Real Estate Property Management (CD-027)

This 45-hour course explores Property Management as a rewarding career path within the real estate industry. Students learn to manage residential and commercial properties, coordinate maintenance and tenant relations, and navigate leasing, budgeting, and regulatory responsibilities. Topics include operational strategies, income management, maintenance planning, and legal compliance.

Property Investment Track

Real Estate Property Flipping (CD-213)

This 24-hour course introduces the principles and practices of property flipping as both a business and investment strategy. Students will analyze market trends, property valuation, renovation budgets, financing strategies, and risk management techniques to identify and execute profitable real estate projects. The course provides practical tools for evaluating potential investments and managing renovations for maximum return.
