Assessment of a program is the primary means to identifying a program’s strengths and challenges. In addition, it provides evidence for faculty to make purposeful change.Over the last several years, the General Education Committee has evaluated its program by inviting faculty to participate in yearly assessment projects. This voluntary, faculty led initiative has provided a snapshot of our students’ abilities and established a baseline of student skills. It has also encouraged faculty to start the conversation about how and what we teach as well as how we can make changes to improve student learning.
