The department of wellness and exercise science department (WEX) at Bergen Community College offers a wide variety of activity, theory and web-based college credit courses. Our aim is to enhance our students’ knowledge of lifestyle issues affecting their social, mental and physical well-being. We also afford students the opportunity to earn certificates of achievement and/or degrees in the professional fields of Exercise Science and Sport Management.
The professional studies Associate of Science degree (A.S.) is designed to provide students with the coursework needed to transfer to a four-year institution and pursue a bachelor’s degree in exercise science, sports management, or athletic training. The curriculum provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to pursue a pathway to careers in exercise science, sports management, and wellness. Students can take coursework and concentrated options in exercise science, sports management and athletic training. Students are strongly encouraged to consult with Bergen Community College faculty and Career Services as they begin to explore career options. Students pursuing the Associates of Science degree (A.S) can transfer into majors, such as exercise science, sports management, or athletic training. Students are encouraged to work closely with Bergen Community College faculty and Advising Transfer Services.
