What is the Dual Enrollment program at Bergen Community College?
Bergen Community College’s Dual Credit/Dual Enrollment Program (DE) — also known nationally as concurrent enrollment — allows high school students to earn college credit while attending classes at their high school during the regular school day. Courses are taught by pre-approved high school teachers who meet the College’s adjunct faculty requirements (Master’s degree in their subject area).
Dual Enrollment courses meet Bergen Community College’s academic standards and expected learning outcomes, and all courses appear on both the high school transcript and the official college transcript.
Application and Registration Process
New Dual Enrollment Students
To be eligible for registration, students must be currently enrolled in a Bergen Community College Dual Enrollment course at their high school at the time of application and registration. If there’s uncertainty about whether a course qualifies, students should speak with their high school counselor or guidance department. College credit cannot be awarded retroactively for courses completed in prior semesters or academic years.
Students taking a dual enrollment course for the first time must:
- Review the Dual Enrollment Instructions
- Submit a Dual Enrollment Application for the Spring 2026 term by January 31, 2027
- Submit a Dual Enrollment Registration form by February 26, 2027

Returning Dual Enrollment Students:
Students who have previously completed a dual enrollment course with Bergen Community College, or current Early College students, do not need to reapply and should submit only the Dual Enrollment Registration Form.
