To receive Center for Adult Transition services, students must:
- Be between the ages of 18–24 at the start of the program and have a well documented intellectual or developmental disability diagnosed during their k-12 school years.
- Display the inner motivation to attend the Center for Adult Transition program and be a part of Bergen Community College’s thriving campus community
- Display the social, emotional, and behavioral skills needed to appropriately participate in the program
- Demonstrate the ability to independently navigate our college campus (if enrolling in any of the college’s cohort based programming, credentialing pathway courses, or college level courses)
- Be open to accepting and applying feedback in order to improve their performance
- Have the potential to attain personal, postsecondary education, and employment goals within the Center for Adult Transition program’s context and framework
- Have a desire to improve employability skills and overall level of independence
