PARAMUS, N.J. – Before “American Idol” and “The Voice,” there was “The Gong Show.” And it’s coming to Bergen Community College.
A live, stage version of the zany, 1970s talent show will play two nights in the Anna Maria Ciccone Theatre this month – Friday, Sept. 16 and Saturday, Sept. 17. Both performances will take place in the theatre, located at 400 Paramus Road, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 for general admissions. A Radiochick Production, in association with Sony Television Pictures, this official off-Broadway adaptation of the television show comes to Bergen after a successful three-year stint in New York City.
Based in Paramus, Bergen Community College (www.bergen.edu), a public two-year coeducational college, enrolls 15,000 students at locations in Paramus, the Philip Ciarco Jr. Learning Center in Hackensack and Bergen Community College at the Meadowlands in Lyndhurst.
