Alpha Mu Gamma is the largest national collegiate foreign language honor society of the United States for two and four-year colleges.  The primary purpose of this society is to honor students for outstanding achievement in World Languages study in college.  Students may be admitted at any stage in their college careers.

A. Students are eligible for the Full Membership of Alpha Mu Gamma, NU PI chapter at Bergen Community College, based on the following criteria:

  1. Earned a grade of A in two college-level courses of the same World Language, and
  2. Have a 3.0 GPA in college-level courses.

Upon initiation, a member receives a certificate of membership, the Alpha Mu Gamma pin and the honor cord. The college stamps student official transcript to show this membership.

B. Students are eligible for Associate Membership of Alpha Mu Gamma, NU PI chapter at Bergen Community College, based on the following criteria:

  1. Fulfillment of partial requirements, and
  2. An expression of interest in Full membership

Associate Members receive a certificate, and, upon completion of the Full Membership criteria, will be eligible to become Full Members.
