In his latest acclaimed work,  “Poverty, By America” (2023), Professor Desmond poses the simple question “why is there so much poverty in America?” and leads audiences through a compelling, multifaceted argument for ending poverty. As a poverty abolitionist, Desmond calls on everyone to become “poverty abolitionists” – a call audiences hope to answer through exploring the issues underlying poverty in America, and especially in our community.
