One Pill Can Kill: REAL TALK ABOUT FAKE PILLS

November 29, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

There is a new wave of illicit use of synthetic Fentanyl to produce counterfeit pills, also known as Fentapills. The government’s DEA lab testing reveals that four out of ten fake pills with Fentanyl contain a potentially lethal dose. Two Cartels in Mexico are making synthetic fentanyl very cheaply and pressing it into fake pills to look like OxyContin, Xanax, Percocet and Adderall, to name a few. These counterfeit pills are imprinted with the same letters and numbers as the authentic pills and are easily available for sale online via internet marketplaces and social media sites.

Attend the “One Pill Can Kill: Real Talk about Fake Pills” on Tuesday, November 29 at 12:00 p.m. in the Student Center. The purpose of the presentation is to alert the community and the public about the devastating dangers of synthetic Fentanyl poisoning.

Guest speaker Paul Lavella Jr. MA, LPC, LCADC, ICGC-I, ACS, CCS, CSAT Candidate, Founder and Director of NJ Recovery & Wellness, LLC, is the first speaker at the event.

Guest speaker Jessica Fernandez, LCSW/Director of Recovery Support Services of The Center for Alcohol and Drug Resources, is the second speaker at the event.
