Presentation and Discussion: Langston Hughes’ “I, Too” Poem
February 16 @ 11:00 am

Written during the Harlem Renaissance, “I, Too” (initially published in 1926) is a powerful declaration of Black pride, resilience, and hope. The poem serves as a direct response to Walt Whitman’s “I Hear America Singing,” offering an alternative vision of who belongs to the American story.
Presentation offered by Professor Earl Taylor. Light refreshments will be provided in C-211 (Pitkin Education Center).
