Project: Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education (Perkins) Grant

Funding Source: New Jersey Department of Education
Amount:  Varies based on annual application request and award
Project Period: Annual

Purpose: The Perkins Grant supports Bergen Community College’s career and technical education (CTE) programs.  Perkins funding helps the College address the academic career and technical skills of CTE- enrolled students to meet the changing workforce and career education needs of local communities and occupational skill demands of employers.

Perkins V Requirements for Comprehensive Local Needs Assessments

Perkins guidelines (Perkins V) require that Bergen Community College faculty complete a Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment (CLNA) to ensure that grantees make a formal shift from merely collecting and reporting data to using up-to-date information about local workforce and educational needs strategically.  The CLNA drives decisions about CTE programs that build pathways to postsecondary success for all students and meet the needs of employers and the community.
