AWS SENSE Level 1 Welding

Welding is one of the fastest-growing occupations in America and career opportunities in welding span from indoor welding to underwater welding. This course prepares students for a Level 1 entry-level position in the welding field. Entry-level welders have an average earning potential of $33,000, while experienced welders can make up to $68,250 per year depending on experience, certifications, and job performance. No experience is necessary. Good hand to eye coordination is a plus. At the completion of this course, students are eligible to receive the nationally recognized American Welding Society (AWS) SENSE certification. In order to receive the SENSE Certification, students need to pass knowledge-based assessments, workmanship sample procedures, and Performance Qualification Tests.

Machine Tool Technology/Machinist

Consumer products are made from many plastic and metal parts on machines that are operated by machinists. Machine workers set up and operate machines that cut, shape, and form metal and plastic materials or pieces. Graduates of this program are eligible to receive the nationally recognized N.I.M.S. certification. Machinists have an average earning potential for salary in the United States of $42,000 per year, depending on experience, certifications, and job performance. No experience is necessary. Mechanically inclined individuals are strong candidates for this training. At the end of this course, students are eligible to take the National Institute of Metalworking Skills (N.I.M.S) Level 1 certification test.

CNC Metal Fabrication & AWS Welding

CNC operators produce machine parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine. They also maintain quality and safety standards, keep records, and maintain equipment. Students will learn skills in working with various materials, job planning, bench work, layouts and how to read blueprints. Measurements, inspection and safety procedures will also be covered. Students who successfully complete the training, will earn a certificate from N.I.M.S. (National Institute of Metalworking Skills), an industry recognized credential. CNC Machinists have an average earning potential for salary in the United States of $45,750 per year, depending on experience, certifications, and job performance. Candidates are required to pass the Bennett Mechanical Aptitude Test; an indicator of aptitude for understanding and solving basic mechanical problems. No experience is necessary.

CDL/GED Training Program with Contextualized Learning Support

Bergen will initiate, operate, register students, manage and promote a non-degree program (the program) of 155 hours to take place at Bergen Community College at the Meadowlands, Lyndhurst, NJ and the facilities of Jersey Tractor Trailer, Lyndhurst, NJ, to enable residents and workers in the northern New Jersey region to complete the requirements to earn both Commercial Driver License (CDL) and General Education Diploma (GED) credentials. Bergen and Jersey Tractor Trailer will agree from time to time upon the training calendar for the program. Most courses will meet for 30 instructional days over a period of six weeks. The programs students shall have 155 hours of classroom instruction, 80 hours of which shall be provided by Jersey Tractor Trailer. Bergen Community College Division of Continuing Education, Corporate and Public Sector Training. a. Bergen shall ensure that students completing the program will have achieved the 80 course hours required by Jersey Tractor Trailer and 75 hours required by Bergens GED Preparation program in order to sit for the GED exam and the New Jersey CDL assessment.

Certified Logistics Associate/Technician

Certified Logistics Associates/Technicians are entry-level logistics professionals that assist with the delivery, distribution and storage of products. Retail, warehouse and shipping companies hire our students to manage the inventory of products, including receiving, packing, shipping, and processing orders.
