Our Mission

The mission of the computer science and information technology department at Bergen Community College is to train and develop students in information technology, computer programming, database programming, network administration, web development, gaming, and overall computer science protocol.

Career Paths

The Associate of Science degree (A.S.)- Information Technology option and the Applied Associate of Science degrees (A.A.S.) with options in database programming, network administration, web development, and game programming are designed to provide students with the coursework needed to transfer to a four-year institution and pursue a bachelor’s degree in information technology and computer science. The curriculum provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to pursue a pathway to careers including computer programmer, computer systems analyst, software developer, and web developer. Students can take coursework and concentrated options in information technology, database programming, network administration, web development, and game programming. Students are strongly encouraged to consult with Bergen Community College faculty and Career Services as they begin to explore career options.

Transfer Opportunities
