What protections exist for people and communities impacted by climate change and forced migration due to environmental disasters? What is the state’s responsibility to prevent, remedy, or redress harm?
Dr. Tina Shull from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte will visit Bergen to discuss creating climate sanctuaries. This talk will explore how Indigenous, migrant, labor and environmental groups, both past and present, have worked to build safe, welcoming spaces and demand environmental justice in the absence of state-sponsored action.
The event will take place on March 27 at 2:00 p.m. in S-138 or virtually via Webex. For more information, contact Dr. Christine Eubank at [email protected].
