Bergen Community College

PARAMUS, N.J. – “Bergen Five-0,” a musical celebration of Bergen Community College’s 50th anniversary featuring the music of former distinguished artists who have performed on the College’s stage throughout the past five decades, will take place Wednesday, April 25 at 7:30 p.m. in the Anna Maria Ciccone Theatre. The event represents this year’s installment in the annual Ron Mazurek Scholarship concert series and was originally scheduled for March 8 but postponed due to a winter storm.

Directed by Bergen music professors Andy Krikun, Ph.D., and Meryl Sole, Ph.D., the live production of Bergen Five-0 will include the music of composers Ron Mazurek and Phillip Glass as well as musicians John Densmore (The Doors) and Suzanne Vega and Patrick Moraz (Yes) performed by current students, faculty, recent alumni and special guests.

The series has featured diverse artists from theatre and film such as Olympia Dukakis, tap dancer Heather Cornell (Manhattan Tap), musical theatre composers Stew and Heidi Rodewald (Passing Strange) and Native American musician Bill Miller.

The performance will take place at the main campus, 400 Paramus Road. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Ron Mazurek Scholarship fund to help music students continue their studies at Bergen.

Based in Paramus, Bergen Community College (www.bergen.edu), a public two-year coeducational college celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2017-18, enrolls 14,000 students at locations in Paramus, the Philip Ciarco Jr. Learning Center in Hackensack and Bergen Community College at the Meadowlands in Lyndhurst.
