PARAMUS, N.J. – Bergen Community College rolled out a red, white and blue carpet for its student veterans with the opening of the Veterans and Military Affairs Center today. The center, unveiled during the College’s annual Veterans Day remembrance ceremony – after a procession led by public safety officers (from left) U.S. Army veteran Joquann Montgomery of Paterson, Vrej Citakian of Cresskill and Thomas Meyers of Hackensack – offers veteran-specific support services and a central location for advising, counseling and registration. After the opening ceremony, the College’s Rotary treated veterans to a lunch prepared by the school’s hotel/restaurant/hospitality program students and served by members of the Student Government Association. Bergen enrolls more than 300 military veterans under the Post 9/11 G.I. Bill.
