PARAMUS, N.J. – If Bergen County’s winter continues at this rate, children home for President’s Day break won’t spend much time outdoors. However, this year, parents can help clear the winter doldrums with classes offered by the Bergen Community College Division of Continuing Education kids and teens program. Each class, led by a professional teacher, will meet for three days, giving kids age seven to 17 an opportunity to experience something new on their days off. All classes will take place at the school’s main campus at 400 Paramus Road in Paramus.

Offered as part of the program:

  • “Sculpture for the 3D Artist” harnesses the power of kinetic energy to bring art to life ($200, Feb. 18-20, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., ages 7-10);
  • “Flying Robotics” focuses on unmanned aerial vehicles – including their design, construction and use ($195, Feb. 17-19, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., ages 12-17);
  • “Crafty Creations” takes household materials such as popsicle sticks, tissues and paint to create works of art ($175, Feb. 18-20, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., ages 7-10).

Bergen’s Division of Continuing Education offers a wide range of professional development courses, certificate programs, personal enrichment classes and specialized training to business and industry that promote community lifelong learning.
