Our Mission
The mission of the health professions program at Bergen Community College is to provide a post certification course of study to earn an associate’s degree for those individuals who have received education in a hospital sponsored program and are certified (or registered professionals) and are seeking degrees. The specific certification/registration and the accreditation of program attended of the discipline must be the same bodies that accredit and certify programs at Bergen Community College. Bergen Community College awards thirty credits for the certification/ accreditation after the completion of the coursework in the general education courses required for an Associate’s Degree.
Career Paths
The Health Professions Associate of Applied Science degree (A.A.S.) in health science program is designed to provide students with the coursework needed to enter into the field as a wellness center administrator, hospital administrator, community health educator, or other positions in the health professions. Students are strongly encouraged to consult with Bergen Community College faculty and Career Services as they begin to explore career options.
Transfer Opportunities
Students pursuing the Health Professions Associate of Applied Science degree (A.A.S.) in Health Science may consider transfer opportunities into other allied health and science majors. Students are encouraged to work closely with Bergen Community College faculty and Advising Transfer Services.
