Bergen’s main campus in Paramus.

PARAMUS, N.J. – Registration for spring and winter 2019 classes at Bergen Community College will open online Wednesday, Oct. 31 – including for students planning to take advantage of the state’s tuition-free college initiative, the Community College Opportunity Grant. In-person registration begins at the main campus at 400 Paramus Road Wednesday, Nov. 7.

The grant initiative, announced by Gov. Phil Murphy Sept. 27, will provide a tuition-free college experience for students with household incomes of less than $45,000. State officials selected Bergen as one of 13 community colleges awarded $20 million for the spring 2019 pilot program. As a “last dollar” initiative, the program will cover all remaining tuition and fees for students taking six or more credits after any other federal or state grants are applied to their tuition bills. For more information, call 201-879-FREE (3733), email [email protected] or visit bergen.edu.

The first slate of spring classes begins Jan. 14, 2019. Additional sessions begin Feb. 5, 2019 and March 18, 2019.

Winter classes, popular among students attending other colleges and planning to transfer credits, begin Jan. 2, 2019 and end just 12 days later. Three-credit classes such as General Chemistry, Religions of the World and Speech Communication will take place at the main campus, Bergen Community College at the Meadowlands at 1280 Wall Street West in Lyndhurst and online. Students currently enrolled at other colleges should visit bergen.edu/visiting for more information.

In addition to regular registration hours for spring and winter classes – Monday 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. – the College will host special Saturday registration hours Jan. 12, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the main campus.
