Bergen Community College alumna Brianna Peralta, ’24, majored in general studies while attending the NJ Stars program.
“The NJ Stars Program has proven to have provided me with many opportunities going into college,” said Peralta who cited the free tuition in the NJ Stars program. “It allowed me to go above and beyond in my studies and really focus on my schooling while opening doors within the school for other programs like the Honors program.”
“While being a part of this wonderful program, what I’ve come to love was the freedom that it allowed as a student,” said Peralta. “I could take whatever classes I needed without burdening myself, allowing me to be a part of different programs if I wished, and even allowing me to continue on with my education moving forward.”
When asked why she chose Bergen, Peralta knew that Bergen was close to home, and it presented her with “an even better opportunity to join the NJ Stars program.” When discussing the NJ Stars program, Peralta felt that NJ Stars was one of things that kept her accountable during her time at Bergen. She kept up with everything she needed to do including her class work and homework, while pushing forward in her studies.
“I hope to use the experiences I have gained at Bergen to continue educating myself and others, whether that be at work or with my own family,” said Peralta who believes in the NJ Stars program.
