Carlyle MyrieBergen Community College third-shift custodian and former soccer player Carlyle Myrie is an aspiring musician and recording artist who recently released two original World Cup-themed songs for the FIFA World Cup 2026. Myrie’s World Cup-themed songs strive to create an uplifting, energetic, and positive vibe that captures the excitement, unity, and joy of the World Cup experience.

“I hope my songs reflect the spirit of love, joy, peace, and unity that the World Cup represents,” said Myrie who was born in Jamaica and came to the United States at the age of twelve years old. “My goal is to capture the excitement and togetherness of this global event while bringing people from different cultures and backgrounds together through music.”

As a former soccer player raised in northern New Jersey, Myrie would like his World Cup-themed songs to celebrate the spirit of soccer, bring people together through music, and recognize the soccer player’s dedication to the sport.

“My World Cup songs are inspired by my experiences as a former soccer player,” said Myrie who had earned a soccer scholarship to Tusculum College in Tennessee. After his graduation from Tusculum College, Myrie pursued a professional soccer career in the United Soccer League (USL). “Having gone through the journey myself, I understand the dedication, discipline, focus, and hard work required to compete at a high level,” he said.

“I find myself reflecting on the mindset of the professional players who are preparing to perform on the biggest stage of their careers,” said Myrie about the upcoming FIFA World Cup games.

Passionate about his music, Myrie said that his goal is to create meaningful, uplifting music that spreads hope and makes a positive impact. “My hope is that listeners will feel inspired to sing, dance, and celebrate the beautiful game through the music,” he said.

“What motivates me as a recording artist is my belief in the power of music and words to inspire, encourage, educate, and bring people together,” said Myrie who believes that his mission is to use to music to uplift, inspire, and encourage all people.

Raised in a devout Christian family, Myrie developed a love for Gospel and reggae music from an early age. His music journey began when he received his first guitar at the age of nine years old. As his passion for music grew, he learned to play several instruments, including the keyboard, and frequently ministered through song at church events and community gatherings.

“I’m passionate about helping others and grateful for the gifts and platform God has given me,” he said. “I pray these songs will be remembered for promoting positivity, celebrating diversity, and inspiring unity among fans around the world.”

Myrie is currently a soccer coach, musician, and music director at his local church. Driven by his passion for ministry and music, Myrie strives to inspire and positively influence others through songs that blend powerful messages of faith with uplifting reggae rhythms. Through his artistry and dedication to God, he remains committed to sharing hope, encouragement, and inspiration with audiences around the world.

Along with his latest release, “Football for FIFA World Cup,” Myrie released a debut album, “Give Thanks,” and a single dedicated to children with autism.

Based in Paramus, Bergen Community College (www.bergen.edu), a public two-year coeducational college, enrolls more than 24,000 students at locations in Paramus, the Philip Ciarco Jr. Learning Center in Hackensack and Bergen Community College at the Meadowlands in Lyndhurst. The College offers associate degree, certificate and continuing education programs in a variety of fields. More students graduate from Bergen than any other community college in the state.
