Alumnus Eddi Khaytman, ’10, credits Bergen Community College with setting the foundation that he needed to earn his Master of Business Administration from Montclair State University and found his company, PromoAmbitions LLC, a web design and SEO firm.
“Bergen Community College was where I first felt empowered to truly own my educational journey,” said Khaytman.
After high school, Khaytman was accepted to Rutgers University on a scholarship. However, due to personal and family challenges, he was not able to start college the way he had hoped, and he ended up losing the scholarship opportunity. To get a fresh start, Khaytman decided to attend Bergen.
“Bergen Community College became the fresh start I didn’t know I needed,” said Khaytman. “It offered not just an education, but a second chance.”
“The supportive professors and welcoming environment helped me rebuild confidence, reframe setbacks, and reignite my passion for learning,” he said. Recalling his Bergen experience, Khaytman said he received “genuine care and encouragement from the professors.”
“The faculty did not just teach, they inspired the students,” he said. “The nurturing environment motivated me to strive for more, laying the academic foundation and healthy mindset about higher learning that eventually helped me earn my MBA and finish at the top of my class doing so.”
In 2010, Khatyman earned his associate in science degree in professional general studies from Bergen. He then went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in psychology from William Paterson University and a Master of Business Administration from Montclair State University.
“Bergen Community College really did set the foundation for everything that followed,” said Khatyman.
