Franzen Angeleen Quicho

Bergen Community College alumna Franzen Angeleen Quicho, ’25, majored in general studies and was an active student leader on campus.

I chose Bergen Community College for its affordability and high-quality education,” said Quicho, of East Rutherford. “The numerous opportunities to get involved on campus helped me acclimate to the college culture and connect with others.”

Quicho was the director of recruitment for Bergen’s Phi Theta Kappa Society and a STEM Student Scholars Program (3SP) intern.

As a 3SP intern, she conducted research on the “Apple Cider Search” project, where she and her team traced the lost varieties of cider apples native to New Jersey. “I thoroughly enjoyed the hands-on learning and appreciated that essential courses were provided for free to support us as students,” said Quicho.

She served as a mentor in the Turning Point program and the Center for Adult Transition, supporting students with disabilities. “As a mentor, I guided students through academic work, shared resources, and promoted self-advocacy,” she said. She was also a Disability Alliance fellow.

In terms of academic success, Quicho was awarded “Best Paper and Presentation in Psychology” at the 32nd Annual Beacon Conference for her exploration of social media on the teenage brain.

“My success at Bergen Community College stems from the incredible resources available that have supported me academically and socially,” said Quicho. “The supportive and nurturing environment at Bergen significantly contributed to my personal and professional growth.”

Quicho graduated in 2025.
