Kandice BowlesBergen Community College alumna Kandice Bowles, ’21, was hired as the Scholarship and Alumni Relations Coordinator for the Bergen Community College Foundation in July 2024.

“I like working for the Foundation because it is rewarding,” said Bowles. “I love getting emails or phone calls where I can sense the excitement from the student because they just received a scholarship.”

When thinking about what she enjoys the most about working at Bergen, Bowles said, “What I like most is the sense of belonging amongst the staff and witnessing student growth.”

Bowles recalled how she attended Bergen during the COVID-19 pandemic. “I was a student here during the COVID pandemic, right when the world began to quarantine and I received tremendous support from the Bergen staff,” she said.

“With this support, I was able to achieve my goals,” she said. “I would now like to offer that same support to see many other students obtain their goals.”

Bowles graduated William Paterson University in 2022. She has worked as a financial aid specialist for Union College of New Jersey and a substitute teacher. She is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS).
